German - DAK - Sd.Kfz. 223
The DAK Sd.Kfz. 223 was a light armoured radio and communications vehicle used by German reconnaissance units during the North African Campaign of 1941–43. Based on the four-wheeled Sd.Kfz. 221 family, it was easily recognised by the prominent frame antenna fitted above the vehicle and carried additional radio equipment to maintain communications between reconnaissance patrols and their headquarters. Armed with an MG34 machine gun, the Sd.Kfz. 223 was intended primarily for command and communications rather than direct combat. Its speed, mobility and long-range radio capability made it particularly valuable in the vast open spaces of the Western Desert, where reliable communication was essential for coordinating the Afrika Korps’ fast-moving reconnaissance and armoured formations.
This is a multi part model kit. We strongly recommend superglue to assemble.
