British - Bedford QLR Wireless with Monty

 
The Bedford QLR Wireless with Montgomery represents the vital mobile communications network behind British operations in North Africa. Based on the dependable Bedford QL 3-ton 4×4 truck, the QLR was specially equipped as a wireless communications vehicle, carrying radio equipment and operators that allowed headquarters to maintain contact with formations across the battlefield. Such vehicles were an essential part of the command infrastructure surrounding General Bernard Montgomery and the British Eighth Army, particularly during the fast-moving desert campaigns of 1942–43. Paired with Montgomery, the QLR makes an ideal command-centrepiece, representing the organisation, communications and battlefield coordination that played such an important role in British operations from El Alamein through Tunisia.
