During World War II in the Pacific Theater, U.S. Army medium machine gun teams played a vital role in the island-hopping campaigns against Japanese forces. These teams were typically equipped with the M1917 or M1919 Browning .30 caliber machine guns, known for their reliability and sustained firepower. Each team consisted of several soldiers: a gunner, assistant gunner, and ammunition bearers, all working in close coordination. The machine gun teams were integral to the infantry's ability to establish and hold defensive positions, provide suppressive fire during assaults, and counter Japanese infantry attacks, which often involved close-quarter combat in dense jungles or rugged terrain. The challenging environment of the Pacific, including heat, humidity, and difficult terrain, required these teams to be highly adaptable, often digging in quickly or repositioning under fire to maintain effective fields of fire. Their ability to deliver sustained, accurate fire was crucial in neutralizing Japanese bunkers, repelling banzai charges, and supporting the infantry's advance across heavily defended islands such as Guadalcanal, Saipan, and Okinawa.

This is a multi part model complete. We strongly recomend superglue to assemble.
