The LVT(A)-1 Amtrac was a U.S. armored amphibious vehicle used during World War II, designed to support Marine and Army landings in the Pacific. It was armed with a 37mm M6 gun in a turret and multiple machine guns, providing direct fire support during amphibious assaults. Used in battles like Tarawa and Saipan, it combined mobility in water and firepower on land, though it had light armor and was vulnerable to enemy fire.
