The Hummel was a German self-propelled gun (SPG) used during World War II, built on a Panzer IV chassis and armed with a powerful 150mm sFH 18 howitzer, providing long-range artillery support. It had an open-topped fighting compartment, allowing for easier loading but leaving the crew exposed. To support its operations, the Hummel-Wespe Munitionswagen was developed as a dedicated ammunition carrier, based on the same chassis, capable of transporting additional shells to keep the Hummel firing during prolonged engagements. Both vehicles were deployed on the Eastern and Western Fronts, offering crucial fire support for German armored divisions.
