The Valentine Mk I was a British infantry tank introduced in 1940, designed for armor protection and reliability rather than speed. Armed with a 2-pounder (40mm) gun and a coaxial machine gun, it featured up to 60mm of armor, making it well-protected for its time. Used in the North African Campaign, it was reliable but lacked high-explosive shells, limiting its effectiveness against infantry and fortifications.
