The Russian T-28 was a Soviet multi-turreted medium tank developed in the 1930s, designed to support infantry and break through fortified positions. It featured a primary 76.2mm main gun housed in a central turret, accompanied by two smaller turrets, each armed with machine guns, providing 360-degree coverage. The T-28 was moderately armored, with thickness up to 30mm in early models, though later upgrades improved its protection. Despite mechanical reliability issues, it was one of the earliest attempts at a multi-turreted design, and around 500 were built. The T-28 saw limited action during the Winter War with Finland and the early stages of World War II, where it proved vulnerable to modern anti-tank weapons. It remains notable as a precursor to more advanced Soviet tank designs.
