The M3 Stuart Mk I, nicknamed the "Honey" by British troops for its smooth ride and reliability, was the British designation for the early version of the American M3 light tank. It was armed with a 37mm main gun and several .30 caliber machine guns, and featured relatively light armor but excellent mobility and mechanical dependability, making it ideal for reconnaissance and flanking roles.

The Stuart Mk I first saw action with British forces in North Africa in 1941, where it was praised for its speed but found to be undergunned and lightly armored against German tanks. Despite its limitations, it served effectively in cavalry-style roles and was widely used by both British and Commonwealth forces, remaining in service in various theaters through the end of the war.
