The Panzer III Ausf. M was a late-war variant of the German medium tank, introduced in 1942, featuring improved armor, a 5cm KwK 39 L/60 gun, and deep-wading equipment for amphibious operations. It also included Schürzen (side skirts) for added protection. The Ausf. M saw combat on the Eastern Front and in Italy, but by then was increasingly outclassed by heavier Allied tanks.
