The Sherman Calliope was a rocket launcher-equipped variant of the U.S. M4 Sherman tank, fitted with a T34 multiple rocket launcher system mounted above the turret. It carried up to 60 4.5-inch (114mm) rockets, designed to deliver saturating fire against enemy infantry, vehicles, and fortifications.
 
First used in late 1944, the Calliope provided a powerful psychological and physical impact on the battlefield, though its accuracy and reload time were limited. Despite its bulky appearance and the awkward mounting, it allowed American forces to unleash a quick barrage of explosive firepower, often in support of assaults or to break enemy morale.
