The Soviet SU-100 was a powerful tank destroyer introduced by the Soviet Union in the later stages of World War II. Built on the chassis of the T-34 tank, the SU-100 was armed with a formidable 100mm D-10S anti-tank gun, which could penetrate the armor of even the heaviest German tanks, such as the Panther and Tiger, at long ranges. The SU-100 had sloped armor up to 75mm thick on the front, providing good protection against enemy fire. It was relatively fast and maneuverable, with the reliable T-34 chassis giving it a top speed of around 30 mph (48 km/h). Primarily used on the Eastern Front, the SU-100 proved highly effective in both offensive and defensive roles, supporting Soviet advances by eliminating fortified positions and enemy armor with ease. Its combination of mobility, firepower, and durability made it one of the Soviet Union's most successful tank destroyers of the war.
