The Panzer III Ausf. G was a German medium tank introduced in 1940, featuring improved 30mm armor and a 5cm KwK 38 L/42 gun, giving it better anti-tank capability than earlier versions. It saw combat in the Balkans, North Africa, and the early Eastern Front, playing a key role in early Blitzkrieg campaigns before being gradually outclassed by newer Allied tanks.
