European Partizans - Lightly Armed Militia

The European Partisans – Lightly Armed Militia represent the ordinary men and women who formed the backbone of resistance movements across occupied Europe during the Second World War. Often operating with limited equipment, these fighters relied on a mixture of civilian firearms, pre-war military weapons, captured German equipment and weapons supplied by the Allies. Lightly armed groups carried out reconnaissance, sabotage, ambushes and raids, while also protecting local communities and supporting larger partisan formations. Their appearance and equipment varied enormously between regions, making them ideal for representing resistance forces in France, Italy, Poland, Yugoslavia, Greece and across Eastern Europe.
