The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank introduced in 1939, known for its thick armor, which made it nearly invulnerable to early German anti-tank weapons. Armed with a 76.2mm gun, it had strong firepower but suffered from poor mobility and mechanical reliability due to its heavy weight. It played a crucial role in the early Eastern Front battles, but as German weapons improved, it was eventually replaced by the more advanced KV-1S and IS series.
