The German Brummbär, officially known as the Sturmpanzer IV, was a heavily armored assault gun used during World War II, designed for close-support infantry operations. Built on the Panzer IV chassis, it featured a 150mm StuH 43 howitzer, capable of delivering powerful high-explosive rounds effective against fortified positions and buildings. With up to 100mm of frontal armor, the Brummbär provided substantial protection, though its limited mobility and high profile made it vulnerable to anti-tank weapons. First deployed in 1943, it saw action on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, where it was particularly useful in urban combat and for breaching defensive lines. The Brummbär was valued for its ability to devastate enemy fortifications, supporting infantry advances with its destructive firepower.
