The SMK was a Soviet experimental heavy tank developed in the late 1930s, featuring a multi-turret design with a 76.2mm main gun and a 45mm secondary gun. Built as a potential successor to the T-35, it was heavily armored but slow and mechanically unreliable. The SMK saw limited combat during the Winter War against Finland, where its size and complexity proved impractical, leading to the development of the KV-1, which became the Red Army’s primary heavy tank.
